Clothing and Uniform
We have a uniform which we encourage children to wear, but it is not compulsory. Your child needs to be dressed in clothes which are comfortable, safe, and suitable for playing on outdoor equipment, and sensible shoes. We are outside a lot so in winter clothes need to be warm and waterproof. We provide protective clothing for children during craft and water activities, but they can still get messy! We also encourage your child to gain skills in independence and looking after themselves, such as going to the toilet on their own and taking off, and putting on, outdoor clothes.
Dropping Off
Rising 3's: The entrance (via the back gate) will open at 8.45am where you will be met by Rising 3's staff who will escort your child in to the rising 3's room. The lunchbox trolley and signing in sheet will be by the back gate.
Preschool: A member of staff will open the main door and welcome the children in. Children will need to be signed in by their parents/carers before leaving them at the front door. A lunchbox trolley is kept outside he main entrance. The children will hang coats and bags up inside on their own peg.
It's an Ofsted requirement that you record the exact time that your child is left in the setting.
Picking Up
The signing in sheet will be outside for you to sign your child out. If someone else will be picking up your child even if it is another playgroup parent) please ensure that staff are aware of the arrangement and it is recorded on the signing in sheet. You will be asked to provide a password on the registration form. We will use the password if we do not recognise the person collecting your child. We ask that only responsible adults, over the age of 18 years, collect children.
Don't forget to pick up your child's communication book and check for messages.
Late Pick Up
Please arrive promptly to collect your child. It is distressing for a child if they feel left behind once the other children have been collected. If you think you may be late, please contact us as soon as possible so we can explain to your child why they have not been collected.
Late pick up of your child will result in a late collection fee of £10.00 for every 10 minutes as two members of staff are required to remain with your child until they are collected.
